Can I change the size, font and color of text?

Currently you can't make changes to the predefined text styles available with BuildToUpdate designs. The font, color and size of the predefined text styles have been carefully selected to match the feel and look concept of each particular design. The fixed number of styles ensures flawless migration between the different designs. If you are an advanced user you may consider using the HTML snippet for integrating your own text styles. In our 2.2 release we also introduced an extended set of font themes as well as the ability to upload your own CSS for the Aurora design.

What is an anchor?

An anchor is a virtual mark of a particular spot in the text on a page. Anchors are usually added in longer pages for the purpose of creating a link to that exact place in the page. They are particularly useful for FAQ pages as this one for instance.

I have added an anchor in the Text and Images editor, why doesn't it appear when I select the page from link drop-down?

You need to save the new anchor (by pressing "Update" button or just Ctrl+S) before it appears in Link drop-down.

I want to open an enlarged view of an image placed in the Text and Image editor

To do so you'll have to place the larger image on a separate page not included in the site navigation.  Then link the smaller image to this page.
Another option would be to insert an Image Gallery with a single image in it, but this won't allow you to wrap the text around the small image.

Can I insert music or movies on the page?

Yes, BuildToUpdate's Text and Image editor allows you to insert music, videos or flash movies directly on the page. Here is the list of supported media formats within the Text and Image editor:

"swf"

"avi"

"mpeg"

 "aif"

"mpg"

"mov"

"asf"

 "aifc"

"asx"

"wm"

"wmx"

 "aiff"

"wma"

"wax"

"wmv"

 "ivf"

"wvx"

"wav"

"mpe"

 "mpa"

"m1v"

"mp2"

"mpv2"

 "mp2v"

Please note that BuildToUpdate is not specialized in media streaming. For larger movie files it would be better to upload them to Google Video or You Tube and embed them on your BuildToUpdate page from there.

When I try to upload a Media or Image file the Browse field is missing.

The problem could be related to your Browser Security settings or disabled JavaScript.

If you are using Internet Explorer please follow these steps:

1. From the "Tools" menu on top of your browser window select "Internet options"
2. Open the "Security" tab.
3. If you have selected Custom Level, click on the "Custom Level" button. In the properties popup make sure that the option for "Active Scripting" is enabled. If your are using Default Level and it is set to High, try switching it to Medium.

If you are using FireFox:

1. From the "Tools" menu on top of your browser window select "Options"
2. Open "Web Features" tab
3. If the "Enable JavaScript" option is not checked, select it and press "OK".

Contact us if this doesn't help.

When I open the Text and Image Editor there is no box for text input. I can only see an Add and Cancel buttons.

Please check if the browser you are using is in the list of fully supported browsers. If you are working over a slower connection it may take a while for the Text and Image editing options to load. If they fail to load even after 2-5 sec and you are using a supported browser, contact us for further help.

Can I paste content from other programs or internet sources inside the Text and Image Editor?

Yes, you can easily Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) content from other internet sources or documents available on your computer. When you paste the content inside the Text and Image editor all text styles will automatically be converted to match the styles of your design and preserve consistency of layout.  Please note:

  • If you are copy-pasting text and images content from a file residing on your machine, you will be prompted to upload the images. Simply copy-paste their URLs as provided in the prompt or browse to each specific image.
  • If you are copy-pasting content containing elements with active scripting (for instance drop-down menus, advanced controls) these elements will be removed on pasting inside the Text and Image editor.

Can I insert HTML code directly from the Text and Image editor?

It is possible to insert snippets from within the Text and Image editor, which will help you structure your content even better. Just position the cursor where you would like to have the code and click on the HTML icon . You will be able to handle the HTML code in the same way as with the HTML snippet element.
